New members

Ohayo mina-san~
My parents gave me the name Gréta, when I was born and I am only a 15 years old girl with big ambitions. I am more of an introvert than an extrovert, I spend most of my free time indoors reading, writing stories, drawing or learning languages, but that doesn't mean I don't like people. In fact, I love meeting new people and I joined project Commenius because I thought that it could be a great chance to meet some creative and interesting human beings. It is also a way how to practise my language skills and a way to learn more about life in foreign countries because I like learning new things.

Hi guys!
I'm Lucia and I'm 15 years old. I live in Komarno. It's small town but I like it. I've got a lot of friends here but not so much that I don't need more :). That is one of many reasons why I got involved in this project... Make some friend, try new things and improve my English. What I do in free time is dancing, I really love it. I'm in a dance group and we have won successful competitions. I love animals. When I say love I mean they are my passion and they are reason why it's worth living and why life is so beautiful... I'm very happy that I'm in Comenius and I'm looking forward to it.

Hey everybody! My name is Natalia and I am just a regular 15 year girl growing up in a small town, doing regular things. But sometimes regular isn't easy to do. I am a student who studies... most of the time. Sometimes I am a teacher, too. I am good at it because I teach what I love - swimming. And then there is art. I love art but my drawing skills are quite average. But I keep trying. I joined this project because I think it is great chance to travel, learn language and meet new people :)
Hello everybody ! My name is Tamara and I'm 15 years old so I'm just in a first class. Everything is new for me here on our school. And I really like new things so that's the reason why I started working on this project. I hope I will learn many new things and meet new people. In my free time I take dance lessons. I'm part of group and we participate on many competitions. I like to ride a horse, too. I love horses a lot and when I’m riding, it’s a great adventure and relax at once. I'm looking forward to working with you guys!

Most seen type of commercials

Television. We all watch it. And there comes a time in every movie that we watch...that beautiful moment...for COMMERCIALS. We all love them. Don't even try to hide it - you "love" them as much as we do, I know it.

The problem isn't really with the content of the commercials rather than the quantity of them. There are too many of them so that's why we don't even bother to watch them. But if you pay close attention there is a centain type of commersials that goes on and on in a never ending circle. And those, my friend, are the cosmetic commercials. Skin care products, lipsticks, foundations, you name it - you can find EVERYTHING there. And that's why we, Group 1 from Slovakia, sat down and had a long conversation about cosmetic commercials. And yes, everybody in our group is a female.

Our first question was: "What is the history of these commercials?" "How did they look like in the past?"
Well...we wished we hadn't asked this question. They looked rather...creepy. See for yourself.

We told you. Creepy. After this we were centain that it wasn't a good idea to go that much "retro".
Our next questions were about the models and celebrities that advertised the products. We wanted to know if they really used the products and if they "believed" in them.

We took a commercial from L'oreal that stars Beyoncé.
We don't really have a proof that she uses it...I mean that all of these are just our theories...we can't know for centain, can we? :D But the fact is that she always looks flawless so that's something. ;)

We were really trying to prove that these commercials aren's just a waste of space (as they seem to be) when we stumbled across a very interesting video.

We just loved the concept of this video. You can really see how he appreciates that he can see himself once again. No joke or sarcasm are involved in this article, just so you know.
But really, maybe all the mess around cosmetics is actually worth it.

And then there were some commercials that we just loved and could leave out.

Hope you liked them as much as we did :)

Advertisements

Why we chose exactly those ads? Simple. Every one of them was interesting in a different way.

This ad is pointing on a "not everytime good reality". Its funny and when you look at it, you just have an urge to say "Oh my god that definitely hurt" or "It had to be so embarassing for the couple" Maybe its not the main point of this bilboard, but for sure, people will start to think about it, probably when they have nothing to do.

Okay, okay. Most of people in teenage will probably just laugh and become red. But still, we found it creative in a way just the consuments of fast food will understand... and become red too.

The best thing on this ad is, that it doesnt have any bad influence, its very creative. It is not a plain poster from paper, just pasted on a wall of an old building, where the rent of place is cheap, no. It is something on what you just stare and thats definitely what the company wanted
